Attractions and location

Szklarska Poręba is ideal for those who enjoy active breaks close to nature—without pressure to keep up a set pace or break sporting records. Located between the Karkonosze and Jizera Mountains, it invites you to move at your own rhythm: on gentle hikes, bike trips and winter activities amid mountain scenery.

Cycling enthusiasts will find some of the most interesting routes in the Sudetes here. Popular Szklarska Poręba routes include Single Track Szklarska, Mała Szklarska Pętla and Karkonoski Express Pod Reglami, as well as routes through Polish Jizera and Czech Karkonosze landscapes, forests, viewpoints and mountain meadows. The region offers both gentle recreational routes and more demanding sections.

In winter, nearby Jakuszyce becomes one of Poland’s top cross-country skiing centres, with hundreds of kilometres of trails for beginners and advanced skiers. Downhill skiers can enjoy the slopes of Szrenica and Ski Arena Szrenica, plus the beginner-friendly slope in Dolina Szczęścia.

Szklarska Poręba is also an excellent base for mountain trails—from walks to Kamieńczyk and Szklarka waterfalls to scenic hikes on Szrenica and Śnieżne Kotły. It is a place to stay active without competitive sport, enjoying movement, fresh air and nature.
