It is one of the oldest, most popular and best-located mountain huts in the Karkonosze Mountains.
Situated on a plateau beneath Łabski Szczyt at an elevation of 1168 m above sea level, it was established between 1618 and 1648, where it initially served as a shelter for shepherds and travelers.
After a fire in 1914 the mountain hut was rebuilt, and shortly afterward another level was added.
From this spot you can see Szklarska Poręba, the Jelenia Góra Valley, the Izera Mountains, and, in very good visibility, the outlines of the distant Ostrzyca.
